How does zen.vacations work?
zen.vacations is a discovery platform for extended-stay accommodations. We curate stays around the world that are ideal for slow travelers — people who want to spend a week, a month, or longer in one place. Browse our listings, use filters, or chat with our AI Concierge to find the perfect stay. When you're ready to book, we'll direct you to the property's booking system.
Do I need an account to browse?
No. You can explore all stays, destinations, and use the AI Concierge without signing up. Creating a free account lets you save your favorite stays, get personalized recommendations, and keep your AI Concierge conversation history.
Is zen.vacations free to use?
Yes. Browsing, searching, saving stays, and using the AI Concierge are all free. We don't charge travelers any fees. When you book through a property's external booking system, their terms and pricing apply.
Searching for stays
How do I find stays in a specific destination?
You can browse by destination on our Destinations page, use the search and filter tools on the Stays page, or simply tell the AI Concierge what you're looking for — like "a quiet apartment in Lisbon for a month with a workspace."
Can I filter by stay length or price?
Yes. The stays page has filters for price range, location, property type, and more. Since we focus on extended stays, many of our listings show monthly pricing and offer discounts for longer bookings.
Can I save my favorite stays?
Yes. When you're signed in, you can save any stay by clicking the heart icon. Your saved stays are accessible from your account at any time.
AI Concierge
What is the AI Concierge?
The AI Concierge is your personal travel assistant. Instead of clicking through filters, you can have a natural conversation about what you're looking for. Tell it about your ideal pace of travel, the vibe you want, your budget, or anything else — and it will recommend stays that match.
Is the AI Concierge free?
Yes, completely. The AI Concierge is available to all users at no cost. Signed-in users get the added benefit of conversation history and personalized recommendations that improve over time.
How accurate are the AI's recommendations?
The AI Concierge searches our real database of curated stays, so it only recommends places that actually exist on our platform. It's great at understanding what you're looking for and matching it to available stays. That said, always verify availability and pricing on the booking platform before making a reservation.
Your account
How do I create an account?
Click Get started in the top right corner. You can sign up with your email address. It takes less than a minute.
How do I reset my password?
On the sign in page, click "Forgot password" and enter your email address. We'll send you a link to create a new password. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Contact us at hello@zen.vacations and we'll delete your account and personal data within 30 days. See our privacy policy for details on data retention.
Booking
How do I book a stay?
When you find a stay you love, click the booking link on the listing page. This will take you to the property's own booking system or a partner booking platform where you can check availability, see final pricing, and complete your reservation.
Does zen.vacations handle payments?
No. We are a discovery platform — we help you find stays, but bookings and payments happen directly with the property or their booking platform. This means their cancellation policies, payment terms, and support channels apply.
What if I have a problem with my booking?
Since bookings happen on external platforms, you'll need to contact the property or booking platform directly for issues like cancellations, refunds, or check-in details. If you have trouble finding the right contact, feel free to email us and we'll do our best to point you in the right direction.
